French Tips and Ranch Dips

A few different events have been happening in our lives lately.  With cattle work slowing down a bit for us, we have had more time to play. When we realized that our year-end formal event (aka. prom) was going to take place at the end of June, we invited our friends from our homeschool classes to learn to swing dance at the ranch.   Previously, our Nebraska cousins visited and taught us how to dance.

Though we are not professionals, we have just as much fun!

We had so much fun with our cousins that we wanted our friends to learn. Our friends eagerly learned to swing dance!  The night we spent learning together led to an absolute blast at the formal!

Dressed up and ready to dance!

Later that same week our cousins from Nebraska drove down to spend the fourth of July with us. We swam in the pool, blasted fireworks, and kayaked on the ranch lake. The fun on the lake increased in a huge way when we spotted a bridge and decided to jump into the lake from the bridge!

Cousin Margee Jane and Henry taking the leap.
Fearless Hannah taking the plunge even with her broken wrist.
Henry was not afraid of getting wet in the least!

If this causes alarm, don’t worry….we checked the depths of the water and wore life jackets!  Though slightly scary, it was really fun jumping in with our cousins over and over again.

This ranch “dip” was a fabulous finale to an already fun Fourth of July! Though my press-on french tipped manicure for the formal fell off during our bridge excursion, the ranch dip was totally worth it!

You guys are gorgeous! Your vibrant dresses perfectly complement your inner beauty. I hope y’all had so much fun at the dance.

You guys are so brave! I can’t look at the bridge-jumping pics without my palms getting a little (or a LOT) sweaty thinking about ….snakes! But I think about them possibly being sneakily hidden behind every shrub and bush, and in any grass taller than one inch, and maybe in my shed, or dangling over my head from a tree, or under the water bucket when I lift it up, or under my driver’s seat or coming out of my air vents while driving in the car….HAHAHAHA.
