AI OK
As said in the title, “AI” stands for Artificial Insemination or (making the soon-to-be momma cows pregnant.) Since moving out to the ranch this spring, we have been able to get in on a lot of the cowboy action. Lately, this has included AI-ing the registered Hereford heifers. We keep track of paperwork, give the cows shots, push the heifers down the alley, and sometimes provide entertainment. This has not only been incredibly fun but has also been very educational. We are getting to witness biology first hand! School without a classroom isn’t too bad! Does anyone else enjoy learning more outside the classroom than in the classroom? It is pretty A-OK.

Love the ranch/farm experience! The closest I ever got to our cattle was watching the cows give birth and helping with cattle drives. You are way past me!!
